As Gap is getting such a big board now it is becoming harder for us to monitor the rescues posting here and their policies. As there are so many different dogs being added its getting confusing and dogs threads are getting knocked down when the dogs havent necessarily been rehomed.
In the next week we will be changing the way that the Other Rescues Homeless Hounds will be set out.
We will ask that rescues posting dogs in this area have a similar homing policy to that of Greyhound Gap as an organisation where by being all dogs are vaccinated and neutered before rehoming (if puppies that a neutering clause is written into their guardianship agreement) and that homevisits do take place and that the rescue also has a full take back policy in place should the home fail. As much other information should be added also such as microchipped de flead de wormed receives a dental etc and any ongoing support provided by the rescue organisation.
Over the last few months we have had a few rescues that have posted in this area brought to our attention. Those rescues *have* been notified. This has been complaints varying from conditions the dogs were housed in to conditions of the dog once being adopted etc etc.
We will ask that instead of individual threads the rescue has ONE thread running with all dogs added to that thread.
We will ask that each rescue posting has a named representative whose duty it is to keep the section updated.
We ASK THAT THE PERSON POSTING ON BEHALF OF THE RESUCE HAS EXPRESS PERMISSION FROM THE RESCUE TO POST ON THEIR BEHALF. We have also had rescues get into contact with us asking who gave permission for the dogs to be placed onto our board as they dont advertise on forums etc. If you wish to have your status changed to rescue representative please let us know ASAP.
We will also ask that each rescue contacts a moderator of the board to ask express permission for their rescue to be listed in the other homeless hounds section also.
PLEASE NOTE NEW RESCUES WISHING TO USE THE BOARD CONTACT A MODERATOR OF THE FORUM WITH FULL DETAILS OF YOUR ORGANISATION AND ITS AIMS. THIS WAY IT WILL ALLOW THE TRUSTEES AND ADMINS TO VERYIFY ITS OKAY TO BE ADDED TO THE SECTION.
The section will become READ ONLY so that only those appointed as representatives of the rescue can post in that area.
All those representing rescues will be set up with RESCUE status thus allowing them to post/modify etc.
We HOPE that this will also make it easier for the rescues themselves!! Instead of having to head back to the forum and check half a dozen threads its all there on one thread. It may also encourage more people to actively enquire about a dog instead of already busy rescues having to check threads to answer questions posed at the time. Rescues are stretched and cannot always guarantee getting back in time to answer questions in several different places, it is always easier to contact via PHONE OR EMAIL if needing information regarding a specific dog.
The post below gives out an example of how to lay out your first post then subsequent posts can be added with the dogs and their details.
