Noel nearly 11 got achy joints at the beginning of winter and went on to rimadyl. I then introduced Yumove and with vets guidance reducing his rimadyl dose down to wean him off it as the yumove takes effect. Today his billow collar came in the post so I've popped it on him. Any experience in how long it make take the bioflow to show effects as I would like to see him off the rimadyl as soon as comfortably possible? Thanks in anticipation

No experience of the collars, but hoping it starts to help Noel sooner than later.

I used one a few years ago on my old dog and the first night he wore it he slept right through the night for the first time in months, but in general I think it may take a week or two to see any benefit. I lent mine to a friend with an old greyhound and she was amazed at the quick improvement. Hope it works for Noel.

Hi, our 10 soon to be 11 female hound has had a bioflow for the last couple of years & she also has half a teaspoon of turmeric in her food morning & evening, she still runs around like a two year old at times ! Just needs a looong sleep afterwards ! She had been diagnosed with arthritis in her front leg and had been put on PLTs, we were not happy with using these for so long, so we got a bioflow & added the turmeric to her food and slowly reduced her PLT meds over a couple of weeks. The PLT was £1 a tablet and the vet said she would need these for the rest of her life (2 a day!). So in my view bioflow & turmeric well worth a try for a couple of months and see what sort of result you get.

I have used a Bioflow collar on several dogs - it will probably take a week or two to show the effects, but it has always improved the quality of life for every dog.

That all sounds very hopeful, he has 10 days of Rimadyl left and will then have been taking yumove for 4 weeks also so I think I will hopefully have chance for the bioflow to start to take some effect before needing to make decision about getting another months of Rimadyl

Will be watching this thread with interest as I have been thinking about trying a Bioflow on my 9 year old greyhound who has a very stiff back end. Hope you get good results for your dog x

Nettie gave me Rio's old bioflow collar for Ryker because he was so stiff when he first came here. It did make a difference to him and quite quickly.
He was also on metacam and yumove so it is difficult to say exactly what caused the difference. gradually over a few weeks I reduced the metacam and stopped giving it to him. I recently saw a thread on here that said that vetvits were good but I think I will put Ryker back onto Yumove as they suited him much better. He seems to be struggling a little bit more on the vetvits. There again the cold never helps him. I also put a couple of pinches of the green lipid mussel powder on his food as an extra supplement.

The hugest improvement I saw using a bioflow collar was actually with one of my cats. Mac loved to drink water from the bathroom sink tap. It got to the stage that he would try to jump up but more often than not couldn't make it. Within two weeks of wearing it he was back up on the sink without any problem at all.

Yumove has proved amazing for Noel, it really made a noticeable difference beyond or in addition to the Rimadyl, in other words he improved far more once I added the yumove. I'm not sure if three days for bioflow is too soon but he had a ten minute spin and pounce on our bed, that length he hasn't done since the summer! Anyhow, everything crossed that with the bioflow and yumove he can come off meds - for a little longer anyway. The warmer weather will no doubt help once we get to April. So many people have had such good results with yumove. I have seen yumove advanced too but I don't know what the benefits are in addition to normal yumove.... Glad Ryker has also felt the benefits of it, how old is he Tracey?

I am getting one of these collars for Mickey who has loose hips and arthritis in his right legs. I do not like giving him any of the chemical pain killers as it affects his Poo. However he was on Synoquin but now as I am buying Berriewoods Chicken and Rice which contains the Joint supplements all four of my Hounds are getting the benefit of these joint supplements. I may if I find the Bioflow works for Mickey also get one each for Merlin and Kelly.
Does any one know if they last indefinitely or is there a usage date by which they have to be replaced.

I have had a couple of them for many years and used with several different dogs. I find they work really well for some dogs but don't seem to have much effect with others, though I've never been able to work out why that is.

Lisa, thought maybe around 5 but I think he is older. His behaviour seems more like an older dog. Lisa thinks he may have had an accident or something which has left him like this.
Have asked vets but they said they are not sure. When we took him for his booster the vet said he is stiff round his back end and we needed to give him supplements. I told her that we did and have been since we got him.
If he is only five then he does struggle for a five year old well nearly six because he has been here a year in May.
I am going to put him back on yumove because they suited him much better.
