Bod has a moderate amount of protein in his urine and the vet is now suggesting altering his diet. We've talked about the prescription diets but he is a picky eater and I'm not sure he would be happy with it so she's happy for me to try a home cooked diet instead and is going to find me some information about it. It has to be low fat too so it doesn't set his pancreatitis off but I think that part will be easy. I just wondered if anyone has fed their dog with kidney trouble this way and has any advice?
Also we've discussed biopsies but she's not wild about the idea and nor am I as the results won't make a huge difference to what we can do. I would be interested in anyone's experiences or thoughts please.

No experience of kidney problems but Boris has had bad pancreatitis & is on prescription diet. He wasnt keen at first but I sprinkled it with chicken (boiled , no skin ) & he has come over to eating it well. Very expensive but we are staying on it till he is really settled & then hoping to move to home cooked. Good luck with the cooking & best wishes to Bod .
