I'm sure this has been discussed before but I'd welcome opinions on thundershirts with bonfire night approaching. Maddie has always struggled with bangs but she's just suddenly for absolutely no reason we're aware of struggling to leave the house and this is before fireworks are on sale (next wed I gather ) She's now added a fear of late afternoon, evening and night to it Obviously we've been seeing the vet about it but have never actually tried a thundershirt, just an equafleece close fitting cotton bodysuit and wondered if it was worth trying one to add to everything else

No idea Vicky, but I hope you can find some way of helping poor Maddie. This is such a stressful time of year for the more nervy of our hounds

Daisy has one for fireworks and storms and whilst it takes the edge off a little, it's not a solution on it's own. They do have a money back guarantee though, so may be worth a try. Someone on another forum I frequent often advises people to get their dogs thyroid level checked if they have anxiety issues or fearful behaviour - seems it can be a sign - so might be worth asking the Vet about it. Hope you can find something to help Maddie, it's horrible seeing them suffer Moira x

I did wonder even about a brain tumour..... Edit - just done some reading around it and it does sound as if she certainly should be tested, a lot of it fits. Fingers x it could be, I know that's not it all but it could explain the deterioration. I was wondering about bloods anyway just to see....but wasn't sure what we would be looking for I'll be at the vets asap - not often you hope your dog might have something is it! Thanks
