My friend's spaniel is developing problems with her eyes. Can anyone recommend a good eye vet in the Sheffield area, please

Greg at Sue's vets, Peak Vets - he is fantastic, has done the additional ophthalmology training. Saved the eye of a greyhound belonging to someone I know, she ran into a stick in woods and it punctured her eye (shudder). He lives Worksop way so his vet referred him there as did my vets for Bods annual eye check ups. He's also worked magic on Bods 2 nasty eye ulcers which wouldn't heal for my vet but he treated them and abracadabra - no ulcer!!! Ideally he'll want a referral from their vets. Quite right Cath If anyone mentions the name there used to be another guy on London road, Nigel Hopkins but the last I heard he'd massively scaled back his work due to ill health and I've got a feeling he's retired. Also there's a good guy, Pip Boydell at The Animal Medical Centre referral hosp at Thurnscoe who specialises in Ophthalmology and neurology, I saw him with Trixie many moons ago and he's quite a character! but I'd see Greg first, if the dog needs more specialised surgery than Greg can do he may be referred to AMC or Calder vets referral hosp at Dewsbury who apparently have a good Ophthalmologist too. AMC are very expensive. And that's all folks!!!
