Hello everyone,
I have been on this forum before asking for help with toilet training!
We introduced a male dog into our family about 6 weeks ago to keep our female dog company who was suffering with severe separation anxiety.
Everything is going well but he will keep cocking his leg up on things and its costing a fortune in dry cleaning etc... He is toilet trained now so this is probably a marking his territory thing.
Is there anything I can do to stop him? I obviously tell him NO! when I catch him and boot him outside but often he doesn't actually need a wee at all.
Any advice will be gratefully received ..... again!!
Thank you.
Sarah

Hi Sarah, no doubt he is, but, I just wondered if he is castrated ?, also, could he still be a little stressed , or worried, ( as 6 weeks is such early days) and, is marking his territory to make him feel more part of your pack ? I am not an expert on this, but, no doubt someone will be in touch with you shortly, who can help you more Carol x

I had exactly the same thing with one of my lurchers .
I asked the advice of a good behaviourist and she advised me to act all shocked and surprised whenever I caught my boy cocking his leg . She advised against acting cross as this could add to the anxiety .
I also went back to basics , taking him out to the garden every hr . I used the words " Be quick ! " and when he cocked his leg I went over the top with the rewards . The marking stopped within 3 days .
Good luck !
