...on holiday with us! Nearly one week has passed since we picked up Jake (now known as Zak) from Sarah, his fostercarer. He's settled really well and he and our other rescue whippety-thing (Gizmo) are best buddies already. Gizmo has taken charge of his fitness training - it's coming along nicely, and I suspect it won't be much longer before Jake/Zak is zooming past our little speed-monster Yesterday, we had a ride out in the motorhome and they both behaved impeccably. Jake/Zak now has his very own Pet Passport and will be joining us when we travel to France and Spain next month (and on all our other ventures, of course ) Sometimes, it's the little things that you notice - Gizmo doesn't bark or whine so we taught him to nudge at the windchime when he needs to go into the garden; Zak was in the kitchen with me, supervising the dinner preparations, when he heard the chime go and raced off to be let out with Gizmo - after such a short time together I'm impressed by that! So, just to say a big thank you to all who were involved in Jake's journey to our lives - Sam B, Sarah I, and Sarah K, and of course, Lisa and others at GG. Elaine and Aidan, Gizmo and Jake (Zak) I wanted to add that, 4 hours after my above post, I heard the chime and got up expecting to see Gizmo at the door - it wasn't, it was Zak!! He popped out for a wee and then straight back in - awesome!

What clever boys you have with the windchime! Ours would never learn anything so sensible!
They both look soooo happy on the beach too :-)

Honestly, it was ridiculously easy - with Gizmo we went to the door with him when he wandered that way, sort of pushed his nose (softly, of course, sometimes barely brushing it, but enough to make a sound) into the chime and then followed it by massive amounts of praise and door opening. Zak has just learned it with no input from us humans - I'm just "wow"!!
