Great Kongs are brill and you can leave a worn tee shirt in his bed so he can smell you even if you don't put it on him For a greyhound I use 1/3 of the recommended human dose Harnesses are great for hanging onto greys though I always use a double ended lead and have it clipped to the ring on the spine and the ring on the front of the chest .. Xtradog, Mekuti and Tilley farm all do well fitting harnesses and leads Welcome to the two hound club Julie

I shall have a look into one of them, cheers. Duke is driving me mental today ! usual morning routine re getting up , breakfast, walk etc, then as have been doing for the last few days I did the twenty minute coat thing, gave him his kong and off I toddled. I only down the garden and into the car - thank goodness ! within 5 minutes duke "the lungs" was giving it full welly ! I left it until he stopped to draw breath and then shot back in and ignored him totally even though he was still whinging/singing. Maybe todays play on radio 4 was not to his liking , he is a fussy so and so. He had half emptied the kong and discarded the rest. I know I have to persevere but I will only try again once the "dear" neighbours are out later on today ! Am just praying the dap collar turns up today as I am feeling very demoralised with my darling boy today. Hes seems to be worse not better and has even taken to yowling when I got upstairs, but I am being strong and ignoring him.

Lisa told me not to go back in, but to just knock on the window and shout quiet then walk off. If you go back in while he's noisy he's won! but it is hard to wait for a pause isn't it. When our 4 decide to 'sing' it's very loud - eek!!!

You need to build it up slowly if he's that upset, fill one Kong with lots of nice little biscs too that come out easily and the other with things that need more work at so he can get some but has to work at the other.

dear all day 11 in the howl house. duke has been a vision of goodness today because I have been home !! his furry cousins have returned from their holiday and he went mental when he saw them ! I have been keeping up with the routine ie breakfast, walk, sleep kong etc. Yesterday the DAP collar arrived but that in itself was a performance, when I put it on he starting shaking and it took some time for him to settle. Once he seemed ok we went out, MISTAKE! He seemed to want to eat every dog we came across , from yorkies to malamutes. He seemed hyper alert. Today he seems a bit better but he nearly bent himself in 2 when he saw the fur cousins earlier- one of them wasn't impressed at this and the heckles went up but its was all a love in later. However I am taking this as a positive that once they went home he has settled and been his usual fabulous self. its was so sweet earlier my young daughter was playing with her sylvanian families and he just sat there (- yes sat -who know giraffes could do it) sniffing everything and cuddling up to her ! its a total love fest when they are together - hes just 34 kg of cuddles !!!!
