We're looking for a new harness for Dickie.....we have a ruffwear which is brilliant and we will still use when we need to but the problem is that as he only has the one front leg and is struggling on his back legs its not easy to get on and off him because we're lifting his front leg up and that's uncomfortable for him We really just want something to attach a lead to as we're long lining him much more now that he's not going off lead. I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendation because I don't know where to start with finding something that will fit properly/safely/comfortably over his shoulder stump so any ideas would be very welcome

Nothing to do with a harness but do you use a flexi lead? After a dreadful experience with one years ago I swore never again but we got a big tape one put the handle through a lead fastened diagonally across your chest so you can't drop and it's fantastic, made such a big difference to dog walks and it means only holding 3 leads a lot of the time. I guess we were lucky that Gracies leg is the opposite side so we don't need to lift her to get her ruffwear on but I do understand as at the end of winter I was really feeling the effects of lifting her to wash her feet. I stopped using her equafleece jumper and bought an AK creations coat with a big chest piece so I didn't have to lift her.
Just wondered if Cath or Laura could swap the clips over on your ruffwear so it opened at the other side? I know it wouldn't be quite the same but might be worth a think seeing as you know 2 such talented ladies! Gracies really isn't a problem at all, never have to lift her to get it on.
I saw the ones Jo (meggie-moo) is doing too, look interesting.

Brilliant thank you so much, I'll have a proper look at both of those and see what might be best but they both look great No Vicky we don't use a flexi-lead .....just a bog standard long lead, that way he can't overdo things but can still have a little freedom
