Hi All, My hubby and I are the lucky people who have the absolute pleasure of being adopted by the lovely lad Lewis.
Firstly I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone involved in the rescue and care of all of the hounds at Greyhound Gap. The work you do is outstanding.I will promise to be as supportive as I can in this organisation as I feel drawn to become part of this family of friends.
Ok now I have news about Lewis.
He arrived with us on Saturday. He has taken all of the change in his stride. Given the traumatic start in life this little lad has has this is a true testament to the fantastic work carried out at the kennels.
We have fallen head over heels in love with this boy. He treats everything with wonderment.... he studies everything around him with interest. Taking Lisa's excellent advice he has settled really well, far exceeding my expectations.
He is gaining confidence and starting to show us the goofy puppy side of himself that he probably was denied. He will have a funny half hour every now and then and pinches cushions, the TV remote, shoes and take them to his bed. No chewing just collecting. We have given him a couple of cuddly toys and I found him taking them to the bottom of the garden. I brought them back in and he has taken them back to where he put them.I don't think he wants to share his house with a lion and a cat just yet!
He has amazed us with the way he has behaved both indoors and out. He loves the garden and will go out for a mooch around find a shady spot and have a snooze. He managed to be left alone in the house for 10 mins this morning and 20 mins this afternoon without any distress. it was so much harder for me to be outside the house listening but not a sound when I peeped in the window he was stretched out not seeming to be stressing at all.
His only misdemeanor so far has been a touch of worktop surfing...... My fault for leaving a 2 rich tea biscuits within reach, while I made a coffee needles to say I only got to eat one.Well I am trying to cut down and Lewis says only trying to help mum.
Anyway He is doing really well and seems very happy and we have Greyhound Gap to thank.
I will add photos as soon as I work out how to.
