Roll up, roll up! Volunteers required for a collection / meet and greet at Yarm Gala. We always do well in Yarm anyway, but this year I have got the date of the annual Gala which means the high street will be super busy. The Gala officially starts at 11am but I suggest we get there for 10.30am. It goes on into the evening but I've only got the permit until 4pm. yarmtowncouncil.org.uk/pages/gala.html

What will this mean in terms of getting a car into Yarm? We can come but I'm wondering about parking?

What will this mean in terms of getting a car into Yarm? We can come but I'm wondering about parking? Erm, good question! I'll ask the town clerk if there's any way of reserving a space. If not, I can go down early and park in a spot out of the disc zone, then when you arrive you can have the space and Mark will take our car home.

I think they close the whole High Street off. I guess that the closest I'll be able to get is that car park in front of that pub for the country walk at the Egglescliffe end of the High Street. That isn't a problem- I think if I parked about 9am we'd get a space. Sorry to ask- I just have to plan with having to bring duvets for them to lie on..... and by then it'll be a case of keeping Bob cool with lots of drinks and pouring water over him etc. That just makes him have his most pathetic face on.... which should be good for the coffers

There will be parking at either end of the High Street on the town hall side, and all the way along on the other side.

We've now been offered a stall for this. We could still just hold a collection without a stall, but I think we'll do a lot better with one. I don't want to push your good will too far though by asking for more of your time to help me fill the stall! What do my fellow Gala-ers think??? p.s. I don't think 'precious items' will go down too well in Yarm, but perhaps a tombola if we could gather prizes, I could bake some stinky delicious liver cake, someone could bring some collars, another someone could knit some dog jumpers ...

We can do this as a practice run for our Stockton show..... I made a list the other day to chat about at tea tomorrow.... when I find it I'll show you As I'll have had a week's holiday and changed jobs by that point I'll have had loads of time to play and could bring things like - ribbon bookmarks - mini owls - bigger owls as pin cushions - a couple of doorstops - tote bags - coin purses - key rings - collars for hounds... different styles and sizes- tassles, tug toys and squeekies I "borrowed" from the GAP show for Stockton I even have a gazebo, if we need one but no tables or chairs. At Stockton we found that edibles made the most money What about rebagging sweets into 50p mixes? Do we have anyone who can bake for us? What about dog treats? Would Fran be able to supply some sparklies? I don't mind going to Northallerton and collecting it if she has. Apart from that I have no ideas... apart from a 4ft high Bugs Bunny for a raffle if your Dad's around to sell the tickets again

Whoop whoop! Cath has it covered! I can bake some dog treats and maybe some cake for humans. My cousin does cake decorating so I'll see what I can talk her into doing. I think this is really cute so will have a go at making some of these: www.pinklemonade.be/Pink_Lemonade/Fotos.html#9I'll tell them we'll take the stall then!

Wow. I love the sweetie bugs.
Those were just some ideas of things I can do... I'm sure that other Northern peeps have hidden talents as well
