Hi everyone. As you may have seen, I have booked us in for P@H Teesside Park on 23rd March, and P@H Darlington on 3rd August. Others in the pipeline: - I have applied to have the bandstand in Whitby with first choice dates of 28th April (Spring Goth Weekend, Goth dog walk leaves bandstand at noon) and 11th August (Whitby Regatta). My second choice dates are 19th August (Folk Week) and 3rd November (Autumn Goth Weekend, Goth dog walk leaves bandstand at noon). - I have applied to hold a collection in Yarm on 16th June, as this is the date of the town Gala which draws a big crowd. I have listed second choice dates of 18th May and 21st September. - I am applying for 8th June in Durham City and this is the weekend of the Regatta (180th anniversary no less!) so will hopefully be busy, and also 14th December for Christmas. I'm sure there'll be more to add but I want to see what we get from these first so I don't overload our volunteers who are a bit thin on the ground this far north! Will keep you informed when things are finalised.

Brilliant. Well done Sarah.
We'll do what we can but are likely to be away the first 3 or 4 weeks of the summer holiday.
Are there any local dog shows we could go to? Tap into the houndy population

No dog shows spring to mind - except for that one they did in the Stockton Summer Show when we were there. Will have a look around and see if there's anything else. What do you think to doing the Stockton Show again? It's 25th & 26th August. I don't think we should bother with the bric-a-brac but could do collars and liver cakes again?!

And daft things like flannel hounds, mini-owls, some of Fran's jewellery perhaps, tug toys... crafts and hounds. And are you going to get another horse for your folks to raffle
We'll be back by then so it's fine by us

And are you going to get another horse for your folks to raffle We'll be back by then so it's fine by us Good ideas. Will have to see what I can rustle up to be raffled! It doesn't seem to be available for booking just yet but I'll keep an eye out. I've looked into dog shows in the area. There aren't many appropriate ones, and most of them are part of a larger fair such as they Yorkshire Show. I've sent out quite a few emails to see if we can attend, but I suspect there might be a cost involved that could be prohibitive. We'll wait and see what responses come through. The one local stand-alone dog show I could find was the Tyne, Wear and Tees Hound Association Open Show on 25th May. Unfortunately, space is a premium and they already have 3 stalls booked in so they've said that they'll have to see how many entries to the show itself they receive before they know if they'll have room to squeeze us in! I'm going to contact the show secretary again a couple of weeks before the date, after the entry closing date, to see if they have room! No word from the other applications yet.

I think we can do better than last year, now we know what we are doing The list I've come up with so far We can do dog stuff - collars - charms - tug toys - bandanas We can do people stuff - bookmarks - keystraps/keyrings - phone/bag charms - mini-owl type crafty bits - what about re-bagging haribo sweets? selling lollies etc. Kids are the best way of getting money out of parents plus GAP stuff if Jo has re-stocked by then. And perhaps we can scrounge a teddy from somewhere and do a name the bear type raffle thing (plus beady stuff from Fran if she can spare any) Liver cake went down really well.... especially with our official testers Bob and Bren. Perhaps we should try and do some baking for people as well- fancy cupcakes were selling for £1.50 each in that food tent thing. Even if we had to take the cost of ingredients out of any profit they must still have been making a fortune

Great ideas. Yes, we are in a much better position this year now that we know the type of things people expect at that show. I'm sure I can get my craft hat on and make some things.

I'll do what I can to ensure that I have some jewellery/charms etc made up to sell and to get them to you. I have a display board and have bought loads of price tags ready.
Unfortunately it's not very likely that I'll be able to attend many fundraisers as I don't drive more than about 4/5 miles now. I'll keep an eye out though and if it's ever possible I'll be there as I love the fund raisers.
