Propalin syrup looks and sounds like it will be sweet and syrupy but it has very unpleasant strong taste (don't ask!) I doubt having experienced it Cara will ever accept syringing it straight in. It will need a strongly flavoured treat like minced beef or sardine to disguise it. Serve it as a starter, then it will be more likely to be eaten. Good luck

Pilchards in tomato sauce? I used to have to mash up Tigs tablets and stir them in some Greek yoghurt ..
Good luck with her ...

I usually use peanut butter or cream cheese, but I met a woman in Sainsburys (I know!) buying budget tinned meatballs which she said she used to give medication to her dog.

I have 2 dogs on Propalin .... I just put it in their food I had always presumed it tasted quite pleasant, until now! ;D

Great stuff isn't it Good luck with giving her it though Maddie has urilin, think it's just a generic version so cheaper but it drips out 1 drop at a time so is easy to put on food but not a tongue. Wonder if it tastes the same? It's very easy to spread out in little drips but then I suppose she'd just refuse to eat her food altogether. I always marvel at how they eat food with Metacam on it as it smells absolutely vile but never had a refuser.

This morning Cara woofed down her brekkie (which was the problem meal really) I tried Fray Bentos meat balls in tomato sauce and she loved them. I made a hole in two of them and squirted the Propalin in, covered with some of the sauce and some luncheon meat, accompanied by some nature diet and a small portion of kibble. Empty bowl, yay She also seems much happier in herself, now I don't know if it's the coming off the Incurin tabs or going onto the Propalin but she has certainly got more beans now (much to Billie's delight) Happy Cara, happy me, thanks for all your input
