Hi New just joined, please be gentle! We rehomed a greyhound just over a year ago and all has been good but recently our boy has been causing some destruction to the house when we go out for short periods. Also he has been marking the carpet in small quantities. Can anyone advise what might be the cause or what we can do to try and resolve it. Thanks

Hi danno and welcome Sorry to hear about your lad's problems lately. Probably need a little bit more detail to be of any help - changes to your home recently, changes to his routine and yours, food, his health, walks? Initial thoughts - separation anxiety, boredom? Do you leave him with a treat-filled Kong when you are out? In the meantime, to limit the amount of destruction, child safety gates to restrict access are one solution. Sorry not to be more help. There are loads of helpful threads on here to advise about destruction indoors etc. Good luck Jo x

Hi Danno .. welcome to Gap Has anything changed in your life or your dogs life? and / or all the things Jo asked about ? You can also try leaving a worn tee shirt either on him or in his bed to remind him of you ...are you cleaning up with 'proper' stuff? Any cleaner with ammonia in will encourage them to mark again so use Simple Solutions or similar (from pet shops) or an non-biological cleaner Best wishes Julie
