We URGENTLY need a foster home for Homer. Homer has sadly been returned to us after 8 years due to the death of his owners and is a VERY sad boy in the kennels. He is also currently grossly overweight. Homer is good with children, other dogs, is house trained, obedient, great off lead and loving. He really needs to be out of kennels ASAP! Homer is now 9 years of age and below is a photo of him when he first landed from certain death in the pound with me 8 years ago! Homer is NOT cat friendly.

Shall I speak to Charlie? Will he be ok until the show then I can bring him down with me or is it more urgent than that?

Ideally Nettie its more urgent than that! He is miserable as hell in the kennels although bearing up. If we can not move him out before then though yes I would be greatful if you could. If we get an offer before then though I would like to move on it asap.

Ladies,
We made an offer to Lisa yesterday on Fb and on her advice we put in the paperwork for adoption/fostering yesterday. We can take him as soon as the arrangements have been made. This could save him unnecessary journeys and get the poor chap into a happier frame of mind.
My breath is bated and I await you verdict.

With reference to my earlier message, we have been home checked on two previous occassions, once by GRWE when were adopted by Polly and subsequently Jess (this was 3 years ago) and once by NGR when we were taken into care by Poppy (this was February 2012).
We know that we will have to be homechecked again but we are confident that we will pass again!

Is there any update on Homer, he is a very special boy and from what I know of him will prove to be a very loving addition to any home.

Has homer a foster home? I have two 5 year old greyhounds, one lazy, keen when out, muzzled and on lead and a super bitch who rules the roost, I have fostered for GRNE twice, the last one rehomed last week ( a very lively two year old! ). I would love to be able to help, but am some way away in newcastle upon tyne. I also have 2 small children, 4 and 5. Mine are crated when other kids come to play and it all gets a bit wild. Both mine are neut/cast and we have a bit of room for a calm, older foster. could pick up south. with the help of iluvhounds .x

Home check arranged for Tuesday! We are in a home check black spot in the Fylde area of Lancashire and this is why its taken so long to sort this matter out. Homer has not been abandoned; his foster home is waiting!

Hi Lisa
We met you the other weekend in Hanley and spoke to you with regards to fosterting greyhounds. We have seen the request for a temporary home needed for Homer. He seems a lovely dog and we feel he would fit in very well with our family and two dogs. We have a rescue greyhound and lurcher, both lovely natured and gentle dogs. Alternatively we are interested in fostering any dogs like Homer so if you could let me know that would be great. Many thanks Hannah
