Nightmare does not begin to describe this situation This greyhound girl was seen dumped a week ago. She was taken in by a man whose circumstances were not ideal and he was keeping her in his van. Janice (jenjanjo) secured a place for her with the Lancashire branch of the RGT but she couldn't go immediately. Yesterday she escaped from her temporary place of safety in Barber Booth in the Hope Valley in Derbyshire and is now on the run Please can anyone in the area keep an eye out and spread the word www.doglost.co.uk/dog_blog.php?dogId=42461Thanks

Have spoken to Helen who now has the greyhound! Can't believe she found herself a Gapper ;D I didn't even know there was a gapper in the area! It really was a nightmare situation as the temporary place she was in was very close to the mainline Manchester to Sheffield rail line. and I was fearing the worst. Helen texted me at 5.30am to say her lurchers had been awoken and when her OH went out the greyhound went up to him. She is safely crated in Helen's kitchen and will remain with Helen for the 7-10 days until we take her to RGT. Jim, who was looking after her, wasn't greyhound savvy, or even dog savvy, but his heart was in the right place and he's relieved she's safe. Helen and I are trying to think of a name for her, as we can't keep calling her the dumped greyhound ;D Any thoughts most welcome
