My dad - aged 84- has his " cat balls" on the kitchen window sill. It's a bowl of old golf balls which he throws at any cat which ventures into his garden. He doesn't have a dog, but objects to the felines pooing in his veggie beds. ( don't blame him) .
Update on small black cat - it has taken to sitting on the wall or worse our "greenhouse" roof glaring at Jet . The water pistol is coming out to save my hound's sanity.

My dad used to have a potato outside the door to throw at cats who bothered the birds as he had loads of bird feeders, he was also a very good shot with a spud! ;D After he died my mum said a robin had appeared and she said it was my dad reincarnated. I asked her if it had a potato under its wing ;D

I apologise to any cat lovers but why the **** do cats have to sit there looking smug as I drag my dogs past the little barstewards as we do our morning constitutional - ok more like all-in wrestling! Not only am I trying to walk but also to stop Lucy biting me and/or Charlie in her excitement )Breezy muzzles are great ) .. it would help if they MOVED AWAY !!! Mind you the one Lucy chased after pulling away from me hasn't been back ... J x

Our old boy Grady was the best cat deterrent we've ever had - he caught 2 cats in our old garden, and tossed them each of them over the hedge ;D Cats were unharmed, but were never brave enough to venture back into the garden

I have heard that you can buy lion poo from zoos - that's supposed to be an effective cat deterrent. Not sure what effect it will have on the hounds though
