It seems that Dylan Whippet is sensitive to midge bites. We've applied topical bite & sting cream (which he tried to lick off) and I've seen posts discussing piriton, but I wondered how common this is in hounds.

I am extremely sensitive and appeal to midges - the nurse at my practice recomended Incognito before I go out and it is good. You can also get a shampoo so you could possible use that on Dylan to put the mossies off.

Try eating marmite sarnies - it's supposed to stop you being bitten, I give a marmite sarnie my donkey every day in the summer to stop her getting bitten and it seems to work.

I bought some Neem 40 Pet Guard Spray which I haven't used yet, but got it in case we need it when we go camping on a farm next month.
