Willow is an 18 month/2yr old male whippet cross. He is a lovely boy who is ok with cats within the home, but like most sighthounds will chase when outside.
Willow loves the company of other dogs but will be best homed with a bitch.
Willow is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and is in excellent health. He is partially sighted in one eye, but it doesnt seem to worry him.
This is what his foster carer says about him:
Willow knows basic commands, heel (when on lead), stay (although he only does this when crossing roads - in the home he simply forgets this one), sit, down and paw. He is a typical boy who now knows what affection is, and now loves to show you he has missed you by jumping to get your attention, and boy can he jump! He will sit down if asked in a calm firm manner when in giddy mode though.
Willow will gladly go out into the garden and loves hearing the "coat and lead" phrase during daylight. But from dusk onwards, he is a scaredy cat. He will cross his legs and even try to hide under a blanket when its dark outside. He is happy once outside, and even happier if you are with him, but it is something that still needs work, as he seems to have a major fear of the dark.
Willow is crated at night, but will happily sleep wherever he can, although he does have a tendancy to pee in the night if left with free reign. He has no issues with a crate.
He is slowly gaining weight, i would estimate he has put on 1 to 2kg's in the month we have had him. He loves his BARF food, and happily eats the fresh raw veg we add to it. He has dried meat treats as well as carrots, bones and stuffed hooves. This diet has never upset his stomach and i would love to see him continue with this. We currently feed him 300g a day, but once he is at a healthy weight, this can be lowered. I estimate his food costs at £1.90 per week including treats!
Willow is being fostered in Sheffield
