My mum has been knitting away feverishly to make coats for greyhounds in order to raise money for GG.
We now have five coats:
1. turquoise - 29 inches from collar to end of the coat
2. camel - 29 inches from collar to end of the coat
3. pink - 29 inches from collar to end of the coat
4. chocolate brown with camel collar and belt - 28 inches from collar to end of the coat
5. blue/mauve (small dog size) - 24 inches from the collar to the end of the coat.
The coats are hand knitted and made of chunky knit yarn. The pattern is specifically for greyhound coats so should fit round the deep chest.
They have buttons but please note that the buttons do not necessarily match as they came out of 'the button box' to save money as my mum has bought the wool herself.
They all have shearing elastic across the middle panel to stop them from sagging after being worn a few times.
They are modelled by Buddy and Nancy who have their own lovely coats, as do Dolly and Marvyn their friends.
They do stretch a bit after wear so if your dog is slightly bigger than the size above they should fit.
For example, Nancy is about 29 inches from the back of her collar to the top of her tail and all of the coats (apart from the little blue one) would fit her comfortably but would need the elastic.
Buddy is about 31 inches from the back of his collar to the top of his tail (bald bum) and the coats fit him just right, and probably could do without the elastic.
I thought a cost of £18 per coat would be fair, plus postage costs that I am guessing would be around £4. If I'm wrong and postage is more than this, any excess paid would go to GG. If postage is more I will pay the difference myself.
