I have just picked this up on one of the lists I am on.
On the A43 between Kettering and Northampton, 2 greyhounds have been deliberately thrown out of the back doors of a moving Transit van. One of the dogs has only three legs and both appeared to be covered in blood. The dogs shot off into fields and cannot be seen at present. Police have been informed. Can anyone in the area please keep an eye out for them.

A bit more information, apparently the dogs are tied together:
They were dumped near the roundabout junction of A43 and A14 - near a scrapyard. One tan and one Blue - and the dogs were tied together with a blue rope.
Phone number of the person I believe is co-ordinating the search 07554990804
Northants Search and Rescue are also out looking.

A FB friend's trying to rally the word out about these and there's another update from last night - as of 2.30am they hadn't been found looks like... I'll paste it here but I don't have fancy paste tags on this browser: From Greyhound Safe FB Page... Greyhound Safe From NANNA(volunteers out look for the greyhounds)OK IM IN CAPS BECAUSE I NEED THIS CROSS POSTING! LIKE LAST NIGHT THIS NEEDS TO GO FAR AND WIDE!! MOST OF THE COUNTRY NOW HAS MY MOBILE NUMBER AND IM TOUCHED AT ALL YOUR OFFERS FOR HELP ON THESE 2 GREYHOUNDS! OK AS OF 2.30AM ...THERE WAS NO SIGN AND WE HAD TO CALL IT A NIGHT! SO THIS MORNING, I CANT GET OUT I HAVE 2 CHILDREN AND A HUSBAND AT WORK! :...( WE ARE LOOKING AT HAVING PEOPLE PARK UP AT THE OLD SCRAP YARD (KETTERING END OF A43) AND USING THAT ENTRY WAY AS A CAR PARK... IF THE LITTLE BARRIERS NEED REMOVING FOR SAFETY THEN DO SO AS THAT DOUBLES THE PARKING AREA! WE ARE THEN CONCENTRATING ON FIELDS OPPOSITE THE SITE UP TO MAWESLY AND BROUGHTON... AND ALSO ACROSS THE FIELDS, AS IF YOU WERE WALKING DOWN THE A14 TO WELLINGBOROUGH!... I THINK THATS EVERYTHING. ILL BE ON HERE AND ILL BE AVAILABLE ON THE PHONE ALSO! POTENTIALLY BE OUT IF HUBBY FINISHES WORK EARLY! THANK YOU FOR CROSS POSTING CAN WE GET THIS AS FAR AS IT WENT LAST NIGHT!? THANK YOU. XXX Other message (mostly described before): Two greyhounds thrown out of the back of a transit van, one has only three legs, both covered in blood - near the roundabout junction of A43 and A14 Kettering area - near a scrap yard. One tan and one Blue - and the dogs were tied together with a blue rope (as if they would not be able to get out of the way of traffic). Search parties needed to save t...hese two dogs who ran off best they coul dinto fields.

I am absolutely disgusted that somebody could do that to them. Hope they are ok and are found so that they can get the vet treatment, love and care they deserve. Can't stop thinking about them. It is so upsetting and sad that they have been treated like that. I feel a mixture of sadness for them and anger towards the person that has done this. It just does not need to and should not happen. Wish I was close enough to help. Hope they are found.
