Fly, a white with brindle patches Lurcher girl has been missing in East Anglia since New Year's eve. She was on holiday with her owners who have been searching the area for her since, but who have to return home now. Owners have been visiting local vets and rescues in the hope of finding their girl. Sadly because they are away from home there is no photograph of Fly as yet on DogLost. www.doglost.co.uk/dog_blog.php?dogId=27139If anyone is in the vicinity of Sutton St James, Nr Wisbech could you please keep your eyes open for this girl. Come on Fly, where are you girl, your family need you to come home now. Jackie x

Next village up from us but I hadn't heard about this one. Most locals finding a loose dog (of any sort) bring it here but nobody has even mentioned seeing a stray around lately though people are used to them from the hare coursing folk who come round. Lots of places for her to lie up and rabbits and hares around if she is a true hunter and can feed herself. Worst problem is all our local waterways have been frozen and just starting to defrost so if she goes onto the ice at all, she could have problems.

Just wondering if its something that could be posted on the dog lost thread as white/fawn, white/brindle may be the same dog. Sam x

Thanks Helen. Sorry I'm so brain dead tonight (time for bed!) I have sent an email to admin at Dog Lost, rather than post on the thread given that the information may be that Fly has gone to the Bridge if it was her body that your friend saw Sam x

Have confirmed with the dog warden that the dog is not Fly ,and I have had a very interesting conversation with the warden about this it appears that Fly is a coursing dog so she could well still be around the area fending for herself .

I am so pleased that the poor dog near Crowland wasn't Fly, although obviously sad that any dog should be found dead. I posted this thread as I had seen a link on Facebook and thought that we had members in the neighbourhood who may be able to keep an eye open for her. I have no knowledge of either the dog or her owners, but don't like to think of any dog out in all weathers and having to fend for themselves. I suppose the upside is that she may be better equipped to look after herself than some would be. Jackie x
