Just a wee update as I noticed my previous pics have disappeared (think I managed to move them.....) I took Logan up to North Yorkshire this weekend to introducer him to my family and my parent's cairn terrier who is at least 15 years old (not too sure of actual age as he too was a rescue). The journey took about 4 hours compared to the usual 2 due to the number of idiots on the road. Logan was no problem at all and spread out patiently on the back seat only to occassionally lift his head up to grin and people in the cars next to us. On arrival, Logan was quickly introduced to Bouncer. We were a little nervous as Bouncer is notoriously grumpy due to advancing years and he suffers from arthritus. He reacted badly to my brother's dog a number of years ago and does not like any other dogs (or people) out on walks. The only exception to this was Shoei, my parents lurcher and Bouncers companion but he sadly passed last year at a similar age as Bouncer. We were all very surprised that Bouncer barked for only a matter of seconds before approaching Logan for a sniff. Within a minute they had both settled and took a moment to sniff each other out. Bouncer was satisfied and was soon wagging his tail. I put it down to seeing a little of Shoei in Logan. Over the weekend they became very settled with each other. They were lying in front of the fire together and would follow each other about the house and garden. Bouncer would occassionally have to put Logan in his place as he doesn't like being jumped on, but Logan was quick to back off and settle. My parents said that they haven't seen Bouncer so lively and happy for a while. Given the reaction to my brothers dog, they were reluctant to get another after Shoei passed but it is clear that there is something about lurchers that Bouncer likes. I think they are coming around to the idea of getting a companion for Bouncer and 1 that will join in on the walks around the lakes that my mother enjoys (unfortunatley something that Bouncer is unable to do due to advancing years). Logan was also introduced to my various nieces and nephews who range from 3 years to 14. He was fine with all of them and was gentle with the younger ones and gave us no concerns. He is a very sociable dog and just loves being around people. Anyhow, here are some recent pics. Doing what he does best: grinning Watching the telly Putting his big tooth to use: holding his head on the couch as he sleeps! Playing with Bouncer He loves a dog sizzler On a morning walk Looking sheepish as he sneaks into the chicken pen but wary of the approaching hens Do they normally sit like this? In a puppy competition. Logan nips the judge then does a backflip. Needless to say he didn't get placed!!! A couple of arty shots

I meant to add a funny story that happened last week.
My neighbour got a rescue last Monday. Ruby, a 2yr old rottie/boxer x that was owned by an elderly couple. Unfortunately were unable to care for the dog so it was placed into a pound.
Now due to Ruby's previous home, she is rather overweight and resembles a large square table but she has the nicest temperament and is great with their 1yr old boy.
Anyway, my neighbour asked me to go on a walk with Ruby so he could see what she is like off the lead with another dog, Logan.
We introduced them on lead at the back off our house then let them off. Logan did the usual Lurcher bounce but Ruby paid no attention and let him get on with it so we decided to start our walk.
My neighbour and I started out with the dogs behind and began walking down the hill. Soon we where overtaken at speed by the strangest sight.
Logan had somehow managed to get on Ruby's back facing the wrong way with his legs out doing a superman impression with a look of absolute panic on his face. This carried on down the hill and round the bend out of sight.
I've never seen a Lurcher ride on the back of a rottie before and given the look on Logan's face, I doubt I'll see it again. It actually stopped my neighbour and I in our tracks followed by fits of laughing.
He's a real dufus!

Thanks. As they say: "there's an app for that". Amazing what you can do in a couple of minutes with an iPhone.
