Very happy to say that Danni is currently sprawled out on the carpet next to me and ready for a snooze.
He was great on the way home in the car and slept most of the way.
He's been introduced to both our cats and is happy to let them wander around and causes no fuss.
We have decided to call him Logan and think it suits him rather well. We will put up a post and keep everyone updated on how he progresses. Looking forward to nice walks across the chase when he's ready.
Many thanks Liz, Kelly and Lisa. Especially thanks to njs for caring for him since he was brought in. He's such a sweetie!

Just a little update on our 1st few days.
Logan is settling in well and has found a nice warm spot on a sofa or two in the house. He's still a little vocal at night but he did manage a good few quiet hours last night and then only made noise at about 6am when he needed a wee. House training is coming along quite well with only a couple of accidents which were down to me confusing exploring independently with sneaking off for a piddle.
The cats are gradually adjusting with the biggest break through just a few hours ago. After a couple of days hiding, Onzlo (our ginger tom) jumped up onto the couch landing right in front of Logan. They stiffed each other then Onzlo turned around, stuck his bum at Logan's face then calmly wandered off. Logan didn't even flinch! Daisy (the tabby) is more cautious but is now sitting quietly examining from a safe distance.
Anyhow, I'll provide little updates from time to time and post some pics of Logan in his new forever home.

Sounds like things are going pretty swimmingly, will look forward to cats cuddled with hound in due course. Although that sort of behaviour has never happened in the 11 years we've had both cats and hounds. I'll won't say never though, since Mac has gone, he was the cat who used duff the hounds up, the hounds do say goodnight to Tosh cat but Rio got a bit perturbed when he started rubbing himself around her legs, she doesn't quite trust the cats, even after 11 years.

Only just spotted this post, really pleased to hear logan is settling well was wondering how he was getting on, what a lucky boy finding his forever home (we loved fostering him). Has he seen the chickens yet?

Hi Nat Logan is getting along really well. He enjoys bouncing at the cats and they usually just dismiss him as a minor annoyance. He's met the chickens and usually just watches them go about their business. He does boun up to them but I gathered that if he did manage to get under the fence, he wouldn't know what to do with them.
We've started walks now in the common land behind our house and he's great on the lead. He's a little bit wary of new places but getting braver.
I'll get some pics on soon. James

Logan went on a "big boy" walk to meet some other dogs yessterday - no problem at all. He also went to SpenceKelli's OH's shop to try on a harness. He thought all the yummy bones looked very interesting! He is a little star and doing really well. Hope the other 2 pups find homes soon x Attachments:
