Edited 4th September 2010: Hi All, The dates and locations are now confirmed as follows: Saturday 6th November 2010 - Glossop
Saturday 13th November 2010 - Castleton
Saturday 4th December 2010 (bring your tinsel, hats and antlers!) - Bakewell
I'll pop a thread up for each in 'Forthcoming Events' and will confirm full details on those threads nearer the time. Thanks so much for the great response everyone! Jo x Original post:Hi All, In addition to booking another round of North West Pets at Home meets and greets we're hoping to arrange street collections in some of the Derbyshire market towns to take place some time between September and Christmas. The street collections that we're looking to book for are Castleton, Glossop and Bakewell.Street collections are really fun and lucrative, but they do need really committed support in good enough numbers for Gap to benefit fully from the opportunity. I'm hoping to make these our priority bookings for the next few months, and will book P@H meet and greets for in between times. So, before we take the plunge and book the street collections I'd be really grateful if you could give me an idea of what dates would be best for you if you're able to volunteer for any / all ( ;D) of the street collections by completing the attached survey. Please answer for all of the dates that you'd be happy to help. We'll then allocate venues dependent upon their availability on the most popular dates. Thanks so much for your support, as ever. ;D Jo x

I've only got 3 of the dates free I think Castleton would be a much bigger earner if done once the Christmas lights have been switched on. That happens on 20th November this year. The village really does fill up with tourists, who come from miles around just for the lights. For anybody who hasn't seen them, it's worth a trip out Of course, potential bad weather will need to be considered. Bakewell Farmers markets are held the last Saturday of the month and could also improve the collection total if planned to coincide. Alternatively, the huge carboot sales run until the end of September and are very well attended. Moira x

I'm sure the left side of my brain doesn't speak with the right side . I was so busy with what else is on and where that I forgot that we might be going away 30th October til 6th November. Sooooo . . . if the 6th November proves a popular date then I hope you all enjoy yourselves . . . ;D ;D It's a shame for me, isn't it, losing my marbles at such a tender age? Jo x

I can do a couple of those dates, including the 4th December. It would be great if we could find some busy high street on that date to plonk ourselves on ;D

I'm reasonably flexible at weekends. Can't do weekends of 4 December and 11 December (son's 21 during that week and don't know what we will be doing yet) but, if it's local (ish) I can get a bus/train as I don't have a car I'll keep my eyes peeled for an update ;D

Thank-you all, peeps. ;D ;D Okay, I'll make firm enquiries for the following dates: 18th September: Possibilities = Castleton or Glossop
6th November: Possibilities = Castleton or Glossop
13th November: Possibilities = Castleton or Glossop
4th December: Possibilities = Glossop or BakewellObviously, the priority will be securing Bakewell on 4th December (Jen, I'm hoping that will fit well for you Hun, if we can secure it). If Bakewell's free on 4th December then that leaves us the other two venues, both controlled by the same council and with three possible dates to go at, so fingers crossed . . . ;D Does that sound like an OK plan? Jo x
