Its just an idea, but, wondered what people thought about filling a jam jar etc with loose change over a period of say a month or 6 weeks . Its a way where we wont miss the "change", but, if a load of us did it, we could raise, I think, quite a considerable amount . Just looking at the amount of people using the site each day, well, if we "all" had a jar, it could be terrific, so what do you think ? Carol xxx

Another idea that was given to me was fill a smarties tube with 20p's. I am sure that will soon add up.

Hey thats a good idea too, as we could eat the smarties first eh We just need enough of us to do it ,and then we can encourage each other along the way .

Hi
Have got a tin already started here, so will join you if that is okay.
All you have to do is tell me what date to start counting the copper LOL
(Oh, and there is also £12 from a sweep stake I did last month for the world cup, so will stick that in there too)

I'm joining in. Just tell us what the dates are when you're ready.

We already save 1p, 2p and 5p pieces anyway so that would be easy. If we started on a set date for a fixed period it might be surprising how quickly the small change mounts up and people would probably remember to keep doing it over a fixed time scale.

Well Carol 47, as you started the topic I reckon you should set the rules. ;D It's had quite a lot of views so hopefully some who did not respond with a post will still join in. Nobody would miss these coins much anyway and if you check your change daily, it's surprising how much it mounts up.

How about starting on saturday 21st August and finishing on September 30th?
I don't mind putting a thread on Dog Talk to advertise it if this is what we go for.
