Walked Dougie and Connie on the kennel walk this morning. Hadn't walked either of them before but it was really enjoyable. Though they are both strong dogs and my arms are aching now they were both very well behaved. Andy.
I'm amazed how similar this girlie is to our 6 year old lurcher! The way you describe her character they must be identical twins. She has the same body shape, ours is brindle but that is the only difference I can see. We got our lurcher girlie from the RSPCA where she spent about 3 years of her life and nobody showed much interest in her either. It's a shame people don't give these dogs a chance as our Darcy has brightened up our lives so much. With this kind of lurcher you just need to be very sensible in your handling. It took us a while to figure out the best way to train her around other dogs but with some consistent positive reinforcement she has improved tremendously and now has a few friends she can play off lead with. I hope someone gives Connie a chance, she sounds so much like Darcy I know she'll make a fab addition to any home!

Oh bless her! I can't believe she's been overlooked for so long. Reading Lisa's write up on Connie she sounds like the female version of Mickey, my Gap foster dog. He was waiting for a foster home for years before coming to me a few weeks ago. I was a little nervous about bringing him home. I mean, he'd been waiting so long and no one else seemed to want him so he's obviously one to be avoided right? Wrong! He's one of the easiest dog I've ever fostered. Connie just needs someone to give her the chance to shine and be herself in a home of her own. I hope someone gives her that chance soon x

Hello Is this lovely dog still with yourselves? If so how old is she now? Myself and my partner are looking for a leggy hound to join our quiet home. We'd be interesting in adopting her if she doesn't mind a few hours car journey to go on adventures, long walks, can be left for a few hours (we have family close by who can pop in and check on her) and she doesn't mind being walked with my mums standard dachshund:) Sorry if any of this is in the description and I've missed it.
Hi, Connie is now about 14. If you are interested in adopting one of the dogs, the first step is to complete the pre-adoption questionnaire and one of the homing team will be in touch. You should be aware, however, that under the current restrictions, homing is only happening under certain conditions.

peggy: Also a brand new greyhound owner, I love her already. It's hard to believe she is 4 years old, I have to keep reminding myself she was in a kennel and not a home. She is a beaut, but goes skits around food, I suppose it was the excieting time of day x
