Hello
the crazy one again.......... Its not like me *cough cough* ( not even sure it is the right section ) to get this tempted, how ever...... (Lisa don't lecture me but yell all you want ....... i know i know ) it has come to my attention that there is a brindle boy local to me (1 mile away, biddulph area) that needs a home and the rgt waiting list is long.............
I am considering to take him on (i know ill prob never be a prober gapper). What is the best way to see if they get on..... for him to come to us ?
I already know the reason why he is being re-homed, and besides the neuter part is there any other questions i should ask (says he is dog and cat friendly in add)
I'm not sure that i like the answers ( i know i prob shouldn't do it, but hate to see him get in the wrong hands)

I will be totally honest I think to go from non to 3 in less than 2 months is risking it. The 2 you have now are still settling in and finding their feet it takes them a good 6mnths to fully settle into a new home and their true colours come out. I think you need to be really really careful. I also think people arnt totally honest when they want rid of dogs. Again something you need to be careful about. I dont understand if he is truly dog and cat friendly why they are trying to get him through the RGT as to *live* with cats he must be in a home?

i expected that answer
the add says:
this dog was injured at belle vue and will never race again,he is 100% house trained, excellent with children, cats and other small dogs.ozzie has lived with my partner for the last 3 weeks but a sudden change in circumstances force me into reluctantly letting him go.he was a good dog on the track and deserves a loving home.sadly i have too many at home myself and have nowhere to keep him until the rgt waiting list goes down.
maybe there is something not being said ........

You could give him a ring ask him if he is willing to get him neutered and call me and we could see if we could find him a home from home. If he is *truly* cat and small dog safe he should find a home easy enough.

also if the rgt do not have room why cant the owner/trainer pay to put him in kennels untilt here is space? I know they will say its because the dog is not longer earning him money so he cant afford it but how much commitment does he have to the animal? Also what are the change in circumstances he refers to?
