scoos recall has gone tits up

well scoo is normally golden but recently there is a bitch who runs out of her insecure garden onto the field - (lovely dog Roxy )and entices Scoo back with her

he is now VERY ALERT when we are on the field and will sniff round that area - if i shout dont you DARE before hes gone into the garden its ok but i just feel hes becoming less obedient on recall

he still goes to dog school and can perfect an A1 Recall but when hes out now it seems to be as and when its conveniebt for him

no changes in the house - same rules apply except i probably fuss and love him sometimes

he is good with other dogs an d cannot get out or into trouble in the garden but thats not the point - he seems to be ignoring me and doing his own male thing

driving me mad as bad ankle prevents me treking off to bloody find him and drag him back

he does return as i shout L O U D ER and i then put him back in the lead and make him sit stay down etc - get the control back
any other suggestions may help

don't want to say things you already know....

things like playing with him more in the park (if you pysically can with a bad ankle) so you are more fun than anything else?

also not necessarily putting him on his lead every recall even if he has disappeared somewhere as he might be thinking if he goes and has fun somewhere else but comes back he has to go on his lead. so recall him for a favourite game of something?

if tesse doesn't listen to my first recall i shout "are you ready?" in the way i would when i'm gonna throw a ball or "whats this?" like i've found something she is gonna have to see!... she normally comes thundering back then so she doesn't miss out. obviously i use these phrases when there is something to come back to as well so she doesnt get fed up of being recalled for nothing.
