Just want to sound you out on this. Do dogs have different colour poos from others, even if they're fed the same food? Dolly and Fella are fed on Wainwrights adult food, Goldie and Biggles are on Wainwrights senior.
Goldie's poos are always perfectly formed (she has a cast iron stomach, haven't found a food yet that upsets her ;D) but they are usually a really dark brown colour, bordering on black. The other 3 poo a light brown colour. She's not on medication or anything different from the other dogs.
Is this just a quirk or on a serious note is there anything I should be worried about?

Ours seem to be much the same when on the same food, think I'd just mention it to the vet next time I was there.

My lot are different the main differance being between the terriers and the hounds. I think it has to do with how much of the food the diffrent breeds metabolise.

I agree it depends on how they are digesting the food. Very, very black poo could contain blood and this would obviously be a problem - you could take a sample to the vet. If it is just dark brown I wouldn't worry.
