Maddie was spayed 4 wks ago, wound was sealed with disolving stitches and has healed up great - until this afternoon when it looks like one end is opening slightly and oozing a tiny bit of blood. There's a circular hard red lump around the area. Doesn' t smell bad and no sign of puss. Will be at vets asap in the morning but anyone else had this happen? Is on ab's for her wee.

Not really the same, by my Other half had a back operation in October, and a very similar thing happened to his wound!! It used to weep clear ooze for a few weeks, but the doc said not to worry as the hole meant it would drain rather than gather under the cut.
I know it's not dog related, but hopefully the vet will put your mind at ease.

Thanks Michele, the next morning the redness and lump had gone down and it's fine now, does sound a bit like your oh, I think a stitch inside had dissolved and it left a tiny hole which has now scabbed over, but it is tiny and all shrinking fast ;D

Hi, Vickyanne,
Is Maddie OK now? Lily lurcher has appt booked for spaying tomorrow - did Maddie have dissolving sutures and none that needed removing? I'm worried to death about leaving her at the vets - I know it's silly and I'm sure she'll be fine!

glad to hear everything is fine, I saw that no-one had answered and didn't want you to be panicking.
