Lisa, I can't thank you enough for taking the time to listen to my worries re. Carrick's eating the contents of my wheat bag. I have talked to my son, and he has agreed that Carrick will stay here till the weekend so I can keep an eye on him. The good news is Carrick did a huge poo just after I spoke to you on the phone, I could have foil wrapped it and marketed it as a breakfast bar! too much information! My son spoke to Carrick's vet, and I spoke again to mine. BOTH vets were so dismissive, I despair. Quote: " Wheat isn't toxic to dogs!" Erm, really? What about ergot ?( thanks for flagging that one up, Lisa, I have since googled it and the information is frankly terrifying.) What about how it was treated? and the answer was, " Well they wouldn't be allowed to sell it if it contained poison, would they?" Granted that was the vet receptionist, but the stupidity of that took my breath away. How about chocolate? How about garden mulch? How about ANYTHING in huge quantities. FFS the dog ate a good POUND of the stuff. I didn't need him admitted as an emergency, but I did want a list of stuff to look out for. Luckily, thanks to you I have my list, the dog is curled up beside me as I type and I know what to look for. [glow=red,2,300]THANK YOU MY FRIEND. [/glow]It's good to have knowledgeable and generous hearted people like yourself to turn to in an emergency. AND the scavenging ratbag isn't even a grey or a lurcher ! xxxx

So glad he seems to be okay Phones on 24/7 if you need me if its engaged ring mobile on 07917422489. Fingers crossed the lack of Lavendar will mean a huge difference as Rodney sadly ate one that was lavendar soaked. They are evil things to have in the house with dogs but unless you have had it happen you wouldnt expect it and would be amazed what they will get into. Give the stupid great lump a hug and a finger wag from me.

Carrick says thank you and licky xxx for all the advice to his foster mum! He has produced large amounts of wheat in interesting shapes this afternoon, but seems absolutely fine otherwise. I really appreciate the offer of more help, Lisa. He is a thieving, clumsy, loppy lugged dope, but Ro loves him and so do I!
