This is a nervous boy from the pound who bit through his lead and got away while en route to rescue. This was at the Total garage at Robeston Wathen on the A40 on Pembs/Carmarthen border. He ran into fields behind the garage.
He is a big golden fawn smooth coated boy, thought to be 10 months old.
I've been out today, more of us are going out tomorrow, all help welcome.

No sightings so far, but local support has been excellent and the news has gone round the farmers and landowners. It's a very rural area and he could go for days without being seen. I'm hoping he will settle down into a regular territory and then we should get sightings. Experienced people plus a trap are ready to bring him in when we know where he is.
A lady is hoping to do a horseback search over Christmas and New Year. It's difficult looking on foot as the hedges are too high to see over.

I am very pleased to say we now know where he is living. There have been several sightings and he has been sleeping regularly in a barn. I'm relieved he has found shelter in this severe weather. Farmers are being very co-operative, and we have the loan of a big trap. We will be leaving food for him to encourage him to stay around, and then will bring the trap along.

This was the last update I read a couple of days ago on Dog Pages. There hasnt though been any news yet to confirm whether it was this lad or not so am just keeping my fingers crossed and hoping beyond hope......
a lurcher matching the descrition of the missing boy has been handed in to a dog pound the rescue didnt get the call till late so isnt able to go and see if its him till tommorrow
but a lady who handed him said he has been sleeping in her barn for about a week and has tried to catch him but failed she then left her door open on her pick up with some food in it and managed to trap him she slipped a lead on him and took him straight to the pound
so it looks like this might be him fingers crossed everyone please

It's him! Last sightings in Pembs were on 27 Dec, then he appeared 10 days later north of Cardigan. The DW tried to trap him but he kept changing area. Then a lady trapped him with food left in her pickup. He had been sleeping in her barn for a week, she had a bitch in season which must have been what kept him there. I've just checked on google maps, and it's 22 miles by car. He could have done it in 10 days, but whether he would have chosen to do it in that extreme weather, when it involved crossing the bleak Preseli mountains, is another question. One would expect him to be far thinner than he is. We will never know the truth, but we have him back which is what matters.
