I'd like to come at this from a different angle - why is he not allowed upstairs? Judging by the post I think it might be because the stairs are polished wood and slippery, so I assume for Paco's safety he's not allowed up................but I could be wrong! |

Surely the stairs could be covered with carpet or rubber matting? |

When you are out could you put him in a crate? You could make it nice and cosy for him and at least you would know he was safe.
