Quick update on the huge orange beast. He's settling in well, and coping with not being allowed on the sofa, although he's still trying to convince us that he really does fit on the sofa....
Seems to be getting on well with our blue madam. She growls at him occasionally, and he ignores her.
We're starting dog training in a couple of weeks. We're starting in a class for rescues, so there's no pressure to perform - we met the trainer on Monday, and she's really nice and looking forward to meeting Fanta. I think Fanta is actually quite bright for a greyhound, so it'll be interesting to see what he makes of classes!

He's still trying to get on the sofa, but is very good about being pulled off it when he does succeed.
He got on the sofa last night and turned the telly on - I think he's still trying to work out how the BT Vision buttons work....

Bless him see he is intelligent ;D Thank you so much Georgina I love this lad with all my heart. As I said on the phone there is something just that little bit special about him that has made everyone he meets fall under his big daft ginger spell

Fanta may have a future as an agility dog - he dived under three stiles today - blue madam normally stands and looks blankly at them, but today she dived underneath after him!

Big day for the orange hound yesterday - three hours outside Pets at Home in Aylesbury. His foster mum Jo held him, and he behaved very well, even with the temptation of several small and yummy looking dogs in view. All credit goes to Jo and the work she did while fostering - he now stands and chatters his teeth instead of being an orange whirlwind, which is what he did when Jo first had him!
Big test today as well - we went to meet some standard wire haired dachshunds. Tried to eat them too at first, but went for a walk with them and then stood and panted in their living room. Dachsies wisely decided to keep out of the way of the large panting orange presence.
All together a very educational weekend.

Another educational weekend for the orange boy. He went on a walk round Wendover Woods with Sharron and Zeb this morning (blue madam wouldn't come because it was raining!). Both boys were great together, and both were very good with other dogs. Zeb said hello nicely to a labrador that was running around on its own, and Fanta stood still until it came up behind him and tried to sniff his bottom, then I smacked it and it ran away.
Fanta was very good and ignored cyclists, walkers, kids on the Go Ape equipment, and just looked at other dogs.
Dog training starts tomorrow evening...

First proper dog training today (we got there very late last week because I forgot which side of the road it was on!). Fanta was very good -we stood in the corner and watched big dogs (we don't know what they are so stand and chatter teeth) and little noisy dogs (we know what they are, rabbits on strings!) and didn't try to eat any of them.
I think he found it at all very tiring, even though all he did was stand and watch, because he's been flat out all evening (makes a change).
