Has anybody got a greyhound raincoat they really like?
Our bitch has a huge thick fleece lined waterproof coat with a neck cover which covers her neck and her bum and half of her tail, which is good for cold wet weather.
I got her a lightweight rainsheet for warmer wet weather as she is generally quite a warm dog but doesn't like the wet. Unfortunately she is not keen on her rainsheet as it doesn't have a 'hood' to cover her neck and it finishes at the base of her tail, so the wind and rain get up her back!
I wondered if anybody made large rainsheets with neck covers?
Any suggestions gratefully received.

You can get seperate waterproof snoods that cover the neck and it sounds like her raincoat needs to be a bit longer. Just had a look at Jan's Gifts and this might fit the bill: www.jansgifts.co.uk/itempp.php?code=dc41h&id=699&lang=&type_id=111Sounds rather like your greyhound warm waterproof coat you already have but without the warm lining.

Thanks - does look good, although still might be a bit short as I think she needs a 32" to get an overhang at the back. The neck part is just right though.
Trust us to get a big wussy greyhound!

We've got a few but non seem to stay waterproof. We saw one of these on a dog at the gap show and asked where it was from - USA bought on hol. However we found the web site and ordered the raincoat and although expensive (about £50 delivered $58 + $30 p+p) it's fantastic and totally different shape from any other I've seen. www.k9apparel.com/The rain just rolls off or stays on in drops, when we get back, a shake and its dry but doesn't make River hot, he loves it and the hood part goes right past his ears. It came very quickly and we are so pleased with it I ordered another one at the weekend for Gracie, wish I'd ordered both together as postage would have been cheaper. It looks as if it will last for years so decided it was worth the investment. In winter will just add his PJ's underneath to make a winter coat. River is the wussyest hound you could meet, him + rain/snow/cold = abject misery before we got the coat. Vicky

I got one from Saintroch yesterday which is superb. Waterproof outer and cotton lining. I asked for a speedy delivery and it arrived the very next day. I would definitely recommend them. www.saintroch.co.uk

I tried one from the greyhound store and its rubbish, anything more than light drizzle and the lining is wet through. Rivers warm waterproof winter coat from jansgifts isn't waterproof any more either.

Is the K9apparell one you mentioned the Greyhound 'raincoat' which has a real hood on it? (Orangey-colour in the picture on the website)
It looks just what her ladyship would like - no wet ears!
The Saintroch ones with neck covers also look good.
Thanks for all the advice!

yes, its yellow for a greyhound, orangey for whippet and has a reflective strip at the back. Will put a pic on of River in his asap. Ours is red. Vicky

as modelled by a very suspicious River! [ There's a small opening on the back of the neck for the lead. The hood part has velcro on the end underneath to hold it closed if you want it right over the ears (it comes further over rivers face when he's walking not cringing suspiciously in to the sofa back ) or open it if you want to turn it back a bit. They look like a couple we've got, too open under the neck. The right size on Gracie is always too loose across the front of her chest. The K9apparel ones are obviously covered up across the front and have a pleat to allow the legs to move forwards. Vicky

Right, my wussy hound is getting one of those K9 raincoats. Then hopefully it won't rain again for the rest of the summer.
Thanks for all your help!
