I'm afraid liver cake is out of the question for me, I made it once and cleaning the food processor was a nightmare, so I just boil liver and add a few cloves of garlic to the water. Once cooked I slice it up into tiny training size bits and stick in in a warm oven for a number of hours so it dries out completely, don't have freeze them that way. I have just made a batch of cheese and garlic biscuits to take up to the kennels at the weekend and some for Lisa's hard done by hounds Another easy thing to do is to make tuna cake, you can replace the tuna with pilchards in tomato sauce or any other oily fish. Dogs seem to like it and its all good for them.

How do I make Tuna Cake? I have tuna at the ready! Tuna Brownies2 cans of tuna – reserve the oil 200g flour (plain or wholemeal) 2 eggs 2 cloves of garlic – crushed Preheat oven to 150c, mix ingredients together, oil baking tray, spread mixture over the tray and bake for 20-30 minutes, allow to cool and cut into square pieces. Cheese and Garlic Biscuits (These are yummy and taste like cheese straws with a hint of garlic) 400g wholemeal flour 1 tablespoon garlic powder or 2 cloves of garlic - crushed 175ml vegetable oil 100g grated cheddar cheese 250ml water Preheat oven to 200c Place flour and garlic in large bowl, gradually stir in the other ingredients until well mixed and forming a dough. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5 minutes. Roll out and cut into shapes. Place on non stick baking tray. Cook small shapes for 10 minutes until golden brown, larger shapes may take longer. Liver TreatsBoil liver until cooked (you can add crushed garlic to the water), cut into required sizes, place in low oven for several hours until liver has completely dried out. I’m afraid I don’t do liver cake because its just too yucky in the food processor but if you want to make some you can replace the tuna in the recipe above with liver that has been whizzed up in the food processor or liquidiser and, if needed, add some vegetable oil to get the mixture to the right consistency. You can also use pilchards in tomato sauce instead of the tuna in the recipe, again use vegetable oil if needed to get the right consistency. Happy baking.
