Hi guys,
After some research on protein percentages i decided we best change the food we were giving our ex-racing greyhounds.... I've recently switched to wagg as it was recommended on here. I was just wondering what other peoples views on this food are?
The dogs coats are beautiful and soft and they wolf the food down no problems at all. The only thing i've noticed is a slight change in behaviour! They seem very excited at walk time and when they have been left alone for a while compared to how they were on the previous food. Is this normal or should i try another type of food?
The only other food i've found within our price range that has lower protein percentages is the burgess supadog, does anyone feed this?
Thanks again for your time. Clare xx

I feed my two on Burgess supadog sensitive. I have a young lurcher and a staffy X spaniel - both of my dogs are high energy. I find this food works well for them and they have been on it for over a year now with no problems.
The other food type I have tried is Autarky - again with no noticable problems (I only switched as I struggled to get it when I moved area).
Maybe I am used to bouncy dogs tho!
How long have you had your dogs?

Thanks for your replies, We've had them about 3 months now. I would have put the behaviour change down to them finding there feet and settling in but it just seemed instant from the time we switched their food! I just wondered if perhaps they are supposed to be like this and the food we gave them before didnt give them enough energy? They seem happy enough and toilet wise everything seems ok. Perhaps i should stick with it. Their coats definately seem a little more shiny!

I'd stick with it a bit longer. With rescue dogs everyday you see a bit more of their personality come out.

I've used aurkay, supa dog sensative and currenlty using wagg. Autraky was good but be warned all the herbs in it send there poop green. supa dog had good results arpart from the mountians of poop it made them produce. i've been on wagg about 18 mounths with no problems. My guess is like you said your dogs are finding there feet and coming out of themselves, looking forward to there walk and settling into the routine.

I used to use the burgess supadog sensitive but my dogs were pooing far too much, not just during the day but we never had a night without piles on the floor I'm sure they changed something in it cos mine were fine on it for years. I feed csj lamb and rice now and they all love it Sue

You haven't accidentally bought the working dog version have you? my friend did and had to scrape her staffy and lab off the ceiling He he! Nope just bought the standard one. I'll stick with it a bit longer then, dont like the sound of the burgess stuff now, they poop enough on this!

Wainwrights made Barney go really loopy, so we've switched to James Wellbeloved with a little fresh mince to make it more enticing. It's really pricey, but he's thriving on it . . .

we are using wagg as our main food with no ill effects. my dogs are a bit loopy but i dont think it makes them any worse, i cant believe how cheap it is- it was only seven pounds something in asdas yesterday.

I used to use Autarky but changed to Wagg some months ago, not noticed any change in the dogs' behaviour or amounts of pooh! But I do sometimes mix pasta boiled in water with a stock cube (low salt) added in with it.

Hi, we switched to Wafcol greyhound maintanece. It seems to suit him, he was on Dr Johns silver before that, and was always on the runny side! Since he changed his coat is so much softer and the dandruf he had from the kennel has gone too.
