This lovely chap desperately needs a foster home asap, as he is not doing well in kennels at all. Lovely, laid back, very friendly and gentle greyhound Sparky was recently found as a stray in Dorset. He is in very good condition and for that reason we believe that he was well cared for in a home until recently. It is possible that he was stolen and when the thief realised how old he is, they dumped him. Sadly, despite extensive efforts, we have been unable to trace Sparky's owner. We have found from Sparky's ear tattoos that he is originally from Ireland and has never raced. He is so friendly and placid, and not very big for a male greyhound. He had his first meeting with the kennels cat while I while I was there an only seemed mildly interested, although we could't get the cat to run to see what his reaction would be. I think Sparky likes travelling in a car as he tried to get in mine!

Has this chap found a foster home yet? I live in Kent with a few acres of secured land with 1 deerhound X greyhound, 1 ex- racer, 2 galgos (one from houndsavers) 1 old GSD, but all very good with other dogs. No kids. Large house with room for foster dog. Willing to travel to collect if homecheck ok.

The rescue have decided that they now really only want Sparky to be fostered within Dorset / Hampshire, due to rehoming logistics etc., so if anyone living in these counties can help, please pm me.
Thanks

Corrinne if he went out of those areas for fostering would they be willing to allow Gap to help with the homechecks of any offers on the understanding that new owners travelled to meet him?

Further update on this boy! He had to go into vets to have a tooth sorted out and whilst he was under they have de-nadded him!
He is absolutely fine with other dogs both large and small.
Obviously now he won't be going anywhere until stitches etc., are out but they do still want to foster him (obviously they desperately want him to find his forever sofa asap) but in the meantime a home environment would be much better for him.
They have said thanks v v much to Gap for offering to homecheck and if they don't get any "joy" locally soon they will consider sending him further afield, with Gap to homecheck if necessary etc.
