A very old greyhound bitch may be heading this way if no retirement home can be found for her in the Midlands. I am trying to see if any of my mates can find a warm corner for the rest of her life. If no one else can take her she is likely to end up here at the owlery. We can at a push take on an elderly bitch who won't demand much exercise or attempt world domination (though you never know). Having said that, all the elderly fosters who have stayed here have suddenly decided they are pups again and started bouncing off the furniture and wanting 10 mile walks. Anyhow, if she heads westwards I will be seeking some kind person to retrieve her from Birmingham Dogs Home on account of I can't cope with driving into Birmingham (yes, I know I'm a wimp). I could pick her up at Ross, Hereford, Telford, anywhere I don't have to drive like the Crazy Frog to keep up with the rest of the traffic.

Thanks very much to both of you The current situation is this: poor old hound was found wandering and taken to the Home. She was identified, I think via chip, and the owners were contacted. They said they didn't want her and were taking her to the RSPCA to be pts but she escaped. As she is a bit wobbly on her pins the escape story doesn't sound all that likely, but you never know. Anyway, they were meant to be going to the home today to sign a relinquishment form, and if they have done this she can leave as soon as we like. Otherwise, she has to do the full 7 days so can't be shifted before Friday. I will know on Monday if they have been in to sign the form but I bet they don't. If she has to wait until next weekend, I will be going to the HWAR show near Ross on the Sunday, so possibly someone could work something in with that and I know various people on other boards who are going so could ask there. Have asked all lurchery mates but they already have rescue hounds wall-to-wall. One more person might help, but if not this old hound will be heading to me who absolutely doesn't do pointies and especially not greys
