Remembering Rusty
Help needed with transport
Info requested re speakers etc.
Many of you will already be aware from a previous message that we will be holding a special Remembering Rusty ceremony at Fochriw Mountain in South Wales on Sunday, May 1st, in memory of Rusty, the greyhound who was brutally tortured and dumped there last year (more info at www.greyhoundaction.org.uk/justiceForRusty.htm )
The Reverend James Thompson, founder of Christians Against All Animal Abuse, has kindly offered to officiate at the ceremony and we are very keen for him to do this, as it will add greatly to the solemnity of the occasion and attract greater publicity for the event and for our campaign to put an end to the greyhound racing industry in South Wales.
The one possible problem standing in the way of this is that the Reverend Thompson will be giving a talk in Watford the night before and, as they do not drive, we are in urgent need of volunteers to bring the Reverend and his wife Doreen from Watford to South Wales on the Sunday morning and to take them home to Holywell in North Wales after the ceremony.
Please let us know as soon as possible if you can help with either of these journeys.
Representatives of several greyhound rescue and animal protection societies have already indicated that they would like to speak at the ceremony. Within reason, though, we would like as many people as possible to be able to say a few words. We also need to have a rough idea of how many people will be attending, so we can make arrangements for parking etc.
Therefore, do please let us know, asap, if you plan to attend and if you would like to speak, either on behalf of an organisation or on an individual basis.
Many thanks.
