B4 Pacey & Paris joined our family I already had two Greyhounds, but Aug/Sept 2006 brought a double tragedy for me & my partner Alan.
We lost Penny on 2/08/06 due to a freak accident at home & we decided that a new partner for our other Greyhound Fred was needed. I already was a member of the GG website & though we were initionally looking for a girl, I kept going back to Pacey's story. Sue & Andy (foster parents) were already good friends of mine, so I called in to see Pacey. Well, what can I say, how could you not love the big daft lad. ;D Alan met him a few days later & we took him for a walk. Alan felt the same about him as me. So Sue checked with Lisa, & Lisa was happy for us to take Pacey on. We took Fred to meet him & the 4 of us went for a walk. All went well & Pacey ended up coming home with us.
Sadly Fred & Pacey only had a week together (you'd think they had been together for years) & on the 25/09/06 Fred had to be PTS. He was 13, had a shadow on his lungs, arthritis & general health was fading. It broke my heart.
We knew that Pacey needed some company, so again I scanned GG looking for a suitable "lady friend". I phoned Lisa about a female I had seen on the site, but after a chat it was decided that she wasn't suitable. Lisa recomened Paris, so after making arrangements with fosterers (Colin & Karen) we went to look at Paris, but ended up bringing the little monster home with us. She is such a funny girl. She is so full of life. she has Pacey running scared. It all gets to much for him when she wants to play. Nothing to do with the fact that he's one big wimp.
So 6 months down the line we are a happy family again.
Here are a few pictures.
