Hi Anna, have pm'd u back!
How does the Grantham Services on the A1 grab you? They are easy to access and you could then get off on the next roundabout on the A52 towards Nott/Derby & therefore M1 back home.
What do you think? We are ok for afternoons too except Wednesday. If I've read it right I think you're free all Friday ? If so , then this would be a good day for us.
PrincessC, how are you fixed regarding time & day?

Can do pretty much any day, but would really prefer to avoid Friday if at all possible as the M25 will be stationary through the worst stretches from about lunchtime because of the weekend and I will have to do a complete clockwise circuit of it because we live near Junction 10. Do we know if the owners can come out to Junction 2 yet?

Just spoke to Anna who can do it Thursday *but* and its a big but couldnt meet Alison till around 3pm the reason being she is working Wednesday on a night shift so will not be getting up till around 11 am! We have all the show stock for Nettie that may aswell go down on the run as its going to cost a bomb to post it! She would then pick me up as the stock is here and we could meet on the M1!! But obviously the poor girl needs to sleep first so will this be doable She could then stop at mine on the Thursday night as we have to go down to the Midlands on Friday to go to the trophy shop to order the trophies for the show and buy the prizes for the bags

Just PMed Kaye but I'll put it here too.... Laura (Houndsavers) is coming up here tomorrow. If the saluki x can be here by tonight or early tomorrow morning, Laura could get her all the way back to Kent (Orpington) with minimal hassle (hope this is ok Laura!!). I'm v v stuck here today cos I have 2 staff off so if someone could get the dog to here (Melton Mowbray) or Junction 21 to 24 of the M1, then I could kennel her overnight, if necessary. If this is all sorted, tell me to butt out Claire (Phone number on website if anyone needs me).

The dog's currently in Roxby, N. Lincs.....which I've just checked out on t'map and it's actually nearer Hull than Doncaster! It's just above Sc.un.thorpe (sorry, it thinks that's a rude word! ) ..why did they say Doncaster? ? Anyway.......I guess this is going to throw a different light on things, coz we've got a bit more distance to cover............over to you guys for the mo.......

Can the woman who took the bitch up there not get her to Doncaster or even Sheffield? If she drove all the way to Kent to get both dogs in the first place, she must have some transport and it would considerably reduce Anna's total journey. Likewise if the owner was prepared to do some of the journey too at the other end...

Got a problem now...... .........the woman who found the dogs and the woman who's got them at her place are "reluctant" to hand the bitch over to the owner as they're "concerned" about "the state they're in" Sorry......do they LOOK in a *state* from those pics? OK, they're skinny, but they're saluki x's Plus the bitch had 11 pups 3 months ago - and raised them all herself, so she must have been in good nick then!!! I have been told by the finder that she thinks they're skinny, badly scratched and scarred (they're Lurchers! ), the bitch has had puppies (ergo owners are "breeders"!!! - where does she think dogs come from?)......11 of them (what are they meant to do, say "OK, we've got 6, you can keep the rest"? ) of which they've got 4 left and are trying to sell at 11 weeks old (it's normally 7 or 8 weeks in my experience) and the red dog has the end of his tail missing and is mangey. I have told her she should report the owner to the RSPCA if she's concerned about their *state* but they MUST return the cream bitch to her legal owner or they could well be prosecuted for theft and handling stolen goods! Keep you posted........

I think you're absolutely right. Presume the owners are aware of what you said too? I think PrincessC has a good point too; The current custodians got the dog up to Sc.unthorpe somehow so they should at least try to get the dog part of the way back down i.e. at a convenient point for the transporters. Anyway Kaye, we await further instructions/outcome Thinking about ClazUKs post IF the custodian agrees to release the dog & IF someone (?) could get her down to say Newark on Trent then we could come up & get her tonight & drop her off at Clair's. Lots of ifs and maybe's I know but just wanted to put the offer out there.

Laura is going to be here about midday tomorrow. This will be the last chance for a relatively seamless journey

We will have to make the run anyway Claire because we need to move show stock down to Alison to get it on its way to Nettie so dont panic if the dog isnt released that soon we can get it moving anyway. Anna is willing to make the pull whenever and the dog can stop at her's as she doesnt currently have a foster for me till we can get it home

Just caught up on this thread, let me know if there is a leg I can do, say the M25 section - yuck but then its a road I know so well and also know how to avoid the nasty bits.

As Claire has said, tomorrow if I could recieve the dog at Claires before 1pm I can bring it down, Gillingham is only half hour from me so I could take it to the door.
