Help, everyone!
If you're in Essex or nearby and can help Bryan out with his gang of old timer greyhounds ... mail me on jenny.davies@virgin.net or Bryan on bryan.leach@ntlworld.com.
Here is his mail, which explains :
Dear All, through my time of looking after Greyhounds young and old I have always maintained the once here they would die here. They would always have my affection and care through their life, they could go to their final resting place loved and missed, and forever remembered.I had a heart attack about ten years ago,a condition that has held me up at times but allowed me in most instances to carry on, in the main quite well. But about ten days ago I started to get chest pains again, its something that is frightening me but with five dogs here and just me I just cant run into Hospital and leave them to fend for themselves.I was forced to go to Casualty but talked them out of admitting me.My Doctor wants me to go into Hospital but I cant until my gang are secure. My Sister took Harry last night so I am down to four,I could just dump them in kennels but if I don't recover they would die a prolonged death waiting for me to come to their rescue and wonder why I abandoned them to their fate .I need some help ,for them to live in a home until I recover or to be cared for if I don't.Not ever to be sent to kennels.First there is Lucy, just over 14,a bit wobbly and on a heart pill a day.Rosie,13 also wobbly,on three heart pills a day.Mooney 11 a disc problem in his back,Rimadyl when he needs it,hurts him sometimes but once he gets going it never shows.Lucky 10+ but just a corn. Its not straight forward looking after my gang, medication for Rosie is paid for by the RGT,the rest by me.My gang are all well behaved and I always let them off the lead, but with their Medical problems it takes special people to look after them and care for them.I know they will have to be split up but I'm looking for volunteers to take the old girls together, and if possible the boys together as well, but the boys could go seperately. Hope somebody can help.
.... STOP PRESS! We may have a home for Lucky! The others are still looking .....
Thankyou, in advance.
