Hi
Just had an email from Northern Ireland regarding a black and white bitch who will be in danger. She is safe for now, but needs to get out of the sanctuary asap. Anyone help? I can 'do' transport...
Also Tim, a brindle boy, is still waiting in rescue kennels but because he is severely depressed and things are getting 'sticky' where he is, he is on the move again. I'm a little worried where he is going next. Very worried about what the future holds for him - anyone help?
Tim is the boy I left behind in Ireland half expecting him to be pts because I couldn't find anywhere for him. He's stilll hanging in there...

Amanda what sort of help is it we are trying to figure for these two? Ie getting them out of Ireland to a rescue place here or looking to into a home? Do you have more details on them Ie age how they are with kids and stuff, would they be okay for first time greyhound owners? Maybe we could broach a few people who are looking and see if we could work something between us?
Please PM me or phone me either way and let me know any help I can give you ie phoning round, cross posting etc!!
If anyone else can offer a place of safety or they think they can will they please let Amanda know! Maybe between the lot of us we could sort them out!
If anyone knew of a rescue who was willing to help also would be great and maybe we could use this months ebay stuff etc as a donation to themselves?

Hi Lisa
These dogs have to go to someone who knows their dog. They will probably be neutered and vaccinated but not assessed as such. Its often very difficult to get any info about them prior to them leaving because things are so delicate there - they are only still alive because they are in kennels as 'lurchers'.
We sometimes get snippets - Tim, for example has been traced and he's just four, but because they are 'lurchers', we can't ask too many tattoo questions... We get a basic thing about them, but again not too much info because of how delicate it is - someone puts their job and hundreds of greys a year at risk to do this.
So kennels are ideal although we are currently fostering one out - Lara, who is being rehomed under a rescue even although she is one of our dogs... we will pay for all vets costs, transportation and any donation will go to the rescue that 'sponsors' us. But the rescue will help with assessment, homechecks and advertising etc.
If anyone who has sound knowledge / experience of greyhounds and can take the risk of having one that there will be little information about (and very unlikely to be housetrained!), please contact!
We will have a stand by place in kennels to put the dog if there are any problems but we don't want too many in foster at the same time just in case...
