Hi I had a miniature poodle with cushings, he was drinking loads and forever looking for food (didnt know at time he was helping his self to our greyhounds food. Took him to vets and they do a special bloodtest, if it is confirmed they will perscribe tablets (we had vetoryl) that are different strengths and they have to test again after taking tabs for a while to check levels. I was lucky the 60mg they gave him worked ok on him. He improved drinking pretty quickly (couple of weeks) and eating calmed down about the same. They have to stay on tabs forever. Overtime they gradually lose muscle and moult alot. My poodle moulted in winter and groomer commented on it but we didnt know then. Most times it affects older dogs, all breeds. I hope that helps, my dog was 10 when we found he had cushings. It is alot cheaper to buy tablets online than vets once you know dosage.
