Apologies if someone has already posted this but my friend's dog bolted yesterday when out on a walk after somebody let off a firework right in front of them. The dog is a female greyhound called Izzy who is very nervous. If there's anyone in the area that could help search we'd be really grateful and as you can imagine my friends are devastated and incredibly worried especially with the cold temperatures at night. Here's their own message:
Still missing our little girl . She bolted from leek due to some little tosser using fireworks in a dog walking area in daylight yesterday . She was last seen at school lane bradnop at 6.30 pm heading towards oncote yesterday looking very distressed . We are devastated and very concerned for her wellbeing with freezing temperatures and bonfire night . Would appreciate a fb share to anyone in the bradnop /thorncliffe / oncote and surrounding areas that you may know . She has a light blue collar . Answers to IZZY .She is very timid and will be hard to catch but would appreciate any feedback on 07721 955526 anytime . Thanks guys . (The power of your shares so far has been incredible and we had 4 sightings last night so many thanks

Has she been put on Doglost? I don't know, thanks for suggesting that. I'll ask them now and make sure they get her on there asap. Any other suggestions most welcome, I can't imagine how they must be feeling. Sian.

Please share if you're on FB. Izzy isn't a Gap dog but a Greenfields dog so not far away and Caroline who runs Greenfields would really appreciate any support or help people can give to help find Izzy. Izzy's family are just distraught. Thanks again.

I do hope she is found before it gets too cold - lots of good thoughts for a safe return to her owners.

Thanks everyone. Caroline at Greenfields Greyhound Rescue is now asking for volunteers to help search for Izzy as the area her family are searching in is huge. If anyone has information about Izzy or can help search please call 07721 955526 or contact Greenfields. She's been missing for over 24hrs now with no recent sightings and with the nights getting colder everyone is really worried.
Thanks again.
Sian.

There haven't been any sightings at all since Tuesday evening when she ran off. Her family have been overwhelmed by the amount of support they've received but are obviously distraught now. Sian. x

Thanks for all the good thoughts. Still no news. There was a sighting yesterday of a greyhound running about in fields on it's own but it was 52 miles away from where she went missing. They followed it up anyway and sadly it wasn't Izzy. we just have to stay positive and hope that no news is good news.
