Quick update on Mag - he is finally starting to settle down in the house (Hurrah!) and spent most of the evening yesterday snoozing in the lounge (which so far has only been a pipe dream ha ha). He is working really hard on his frustration at not being allowed to go say hi to other dogs (because I need focus on me and what I'm asking of him before I'll let him meet and greet) and this week he's walked past several dogs, including a couple of really yappy ones, at heel on a loose lead (I'm sure his regular walkers at the kennels won't believe me ha ha - I can hardly believe it myself). Oh and his mouthing has almost gone (apart from when he is really tired and he wants to sleep)
He's been a busy boy over the last week, we had an evening wedding invite and as we haven't left him home alone for such a long space of time yet and he loves being in the van, we decided to take him with us. weddingMag by emmaduck08, on Flickr
You can imagine my horror when I wandered outside to find that Tony had brought Mag to visit all the wedding guests on one of his frequent walks around the grounds I was thinking... Bride....Wedding Dress....Magnum.....Dirty Feet....Headbutt to the nose.... but he was fantastic, very very giddy obviously but loved being the centre of attention.
He had a busy day last Sunday helping take the caravan to Blackpool for his Foster Grandad to stay in. Mag's first time in the caravan - only for the afternoon on this occasion - but he loved it (not sure I am quite ready for holidaying in it with the Hairy Wrecking Ball just yet) 10494764_10152967637236124_3074853586527497199_n by emmaduck08, on Flickr
While we were in Blackpool we took the opportunity to head over to the beach, OMG he loved it. Him and Peppa played chase on the sands and through the sea for ages and ages, and then he chased his ball and some seagulls, and he was still full of enough energy to play with a little spaniel friend he made. Interesting to see he changed his usual full on wrestling style he uses with our lot and his best mate Doug, to playing very gently with a much smaller dog (I was sooo proud)
On Sunday morning the gang and I headed over to Grizedale and went for an explore while the Singletrack Skinheads pedalled off to do some biking. We had a lovely time and Mag must have covered pretty much every square inch of the forest (all at high speed). He was so well behaved and despite all the fantastically tempting smells, he stayed (mostly) in sight and came hurtling back at speed when I shouted him.
There is nothing the Spaniard likes better than watching from a great height - so the trig point overlooking the entire forest was a dream come true for him
And to prove what a hysterically funny imp he is, he decided to show his Foster Dad the new game of "on" that he had learnt that morning. Only he had been taught with a box, and the box had been put away, so in true Mag stylee he improvised
Honestly he was totally shattered after his weekend and really had to be pursuaded to get out of his bed this morning. He has agility training this evening and then we have a day out tomorrow while me and Peppa are on a training course, so he'll get loads of opportunity to do some more socialising (good job that's his best thing ever )

peggy: Also a brand new greyhound owner, I love her already. It's hard to believe she is 4 years old, I have to keep reminding myself she was in a kennel and not a home. She is a beaut, but goes skits around food, I suppose it was the excieting time of day x

dasherman: Hi, can anyone offer any suggestions as to why when it is sunny, my adopted ex racer is terrified to leave the house to eat or drink or anything for that matter? Seems to be obsessed by the sky?
