I know, I know, been in door 30 minutes and am already giving you an update. But hey, trying my best just to ignore her so she settles, so need something to do that doesn't mean moving about She took a while to settle in car, but after two attempts to do journey standing or sitting and falling off seat she got the idea. She's met the neighbours and their border terrier, without a muzzle, and aquitted herself lovely. Been in the garden for a wee, praised to hell and back for that, and investigated the house and garden amid much panting. She has now laid down on lounge floor, a yard away from her very expensive bed I might add, for a well earned nap. There is still a bit of panting going on, and don't think she has actually closed her eyes yet, but she seems calmer. Bit difficult to do the separation thing that Lisa said, but have been outside and shut door for 2 mins then 4 mins and been upstairs out of view for another 5 mins. Think I'll work more on this later after she's had her nap. Just looking at her now, the eyes are closed and panting has stopped. She has achieved sleep mode Bless her. More updates to come on this interesting journey!

Ha, I would do, but as soon as I move to take any the "lounge ornament" wakes up as if I am about to run out on her The downside of having an open plan downstairs, there is nowhere to hide! Pics will follow, along with more updates, in coming days.

Keep going outside and upstairs Kevin make sure you are giving her plenty of time without you around. Go upstairs to your work room for an hour if necessary.

She's just had dinner. She kept moving food outside to eat, but she started eating from bowls once I moved them outside too. She's eaten up very well, even left a bit, so must have given her a bit too much. Now she has gone back into nap mode Though may have to talk to the minx about hole that has appeared in garden flowerbed!

Flower beds are SO last year anyway. Binks tells me that holes are the way forward How is she coping with the thunderstorms? (if you're having them). Pretty good storms in Belper tonight

Overnight Update She got little spooked by the storms but was generally calm. Don't think she found them any more upsetting thatnme turning the tv on Just wished they had eased off enough for her to go to loo before bedtime. She has decided she doesn't want to sleep on the bed I bought her and curls up at foot of stairs. But bless her she slept soundly all night. Which is more than I can say for me. I found myself listening for her every move and whine, so hardly slept a wink. I was particularly concerned that she hadn't been for a wee since 4pm! But I needed not worry, she must have the bladder the size of a hot air balloon, she went when I let her out at 7am. I swear she would have waited longer too. Anyway, morning is here. Went to give her breakfast before her walk but she is not interested at the moment. Hmmmm. Perhaps she'd prefer a walk first, she certainly seemed quite animated to see me. Lazy divil has gone back to sleep whilst I have my coffee. At this rate I could have stayed in bed longer Will provide a flower bed update later.
