Wow. I love the sweetie bugs. Those were just some ideas of things I can do... I'm sure that other Northern peeps have hidden talents as well I don't have any talents but coud bring some sweet mixes or dog treats (only just seen this or would have asked earlier Whatever you can bring will be brilliant Vanessa. I am miles behind with making stuff so everything anyone can do is appreciated. Just to let you know that Sarah and I will be there from 8am (gulp) as we have to build a gazebo and tables before we even start to get things ready. The event doesn't start until 10am and finishes about 4pm but any part of the day that you can do with a hound will be a big help, as people come across to see the dogs and then donate/spend money. Unfortunately I'm not bringing any dogs this time as I wouldn't be able to look after them properly when setting up, and that's not fair on them.

We will get there around 9.30 -9.45 I and can stay until about 1pm as David is goin to drop us off and then come back and pick usup.
Will go to the pound shop for sweets or something along those lines, but will make them for 20 p as lots of kids usually have 20p to spare
Looking forward to meeting you see you Sunday

Thanks ladies! I've made some of those peg-sweetie-butterfly thingies (see earlier post!), will bake some liver cake for dogs, have made some other little craft bits and bobs, and Fran is sending me some of her jewelry. I think we'll be all set. I've just had a confirmation email from the Yarm town clerk. It actually runs from 10am - 6 pm!!! There's nothing to say we have to stay there until 6pm though if it gets quiet. I can stay anyway if that's getting too late for others.

You have collars and leads and keystraps now. If I get chance you'll also have decorated totes, bookmarks and owls BUT looking at my diary for this week I may not get much done- but it's a start for Stockton show.
I'll need to have a think about staying until 6pm Sarah- I do need to see Jon and also have to get ready for school on Monday. I either need 30 hours in a day or a time machine. In the absence of either I think I'll be able to stay until 4.30 at the latest- if you are staying on we can arrange to swap over the gazebo and chairs... but how would you get everything into your car to get them to yours.
I need a think about it all

We might fit everything in the car, but could do 2 trips if necessary. It's only 15 minutes from my place to Yarm. I've now got a lovely load of bracelets from Fran, still have a shoe box full of collars that Rose Marie sent me for the hound show, and am making lots of stuff myself, so we'll have plenty. Don't push yourself to do vast amounts.

Right Sarah..... before you kill me please remember how lovely I was when you couldn't make it to the GAP show I have completely and totally lost my voice. Now you have all stopped laughing there is a serious side to this. Obviously I must make it a priority to rest my voice so I can function properly at school next week so at this moment in time I am a potential attendee for Sunday- I can't see me being able to talk to people all day, unless things improve vastly before Sunday. If (and I will still try and do all day) I am not happy to risk my voice by being there all day I'll either be there from 8am to help you set up (quietly) and then clear off when things get started or stay as long as I am happy and then clear off. Either way you'll still have gazebo, chairs and the stuff I've already made for you. I can always get the gazebo and chairs from you Sarah next week. I was going to ring you but thought that might not be very productive

If you are still able to come and help me set up so you can bring your supplies for the stall that would be wonderful, but if not I could come and pick them up from you tomorrow. You really shouldn't stay on the day though if it's going to make your voice worse and impact on your 'proper' job.

I think we can pull up along side the stall and unload, then go and park. We just have to find out where our pitch is from the stewards who'll be around the town hall. See you in the morning! p.s. I've already sold 2 sweetie bugs and 1 bag!

I'll be there to set up but after that must go home and back to bed. If anyone local to Yarm fancies popping along and helping Sarah this afternoon, even for an hour, that'd be brilliant.

Just thought I would say hello, I came along to the stall today with Polly, my retired greyhound (the black one desperate for all of the liver cake at once!). I actually live in Consett about an hour away but I'm from Yarm originally and get back to my parents regularly, sorry I didn't read this thread sooner or I would have volunteered to help! Bear me in mind for future though, if you need any help in the north east area! I'm always keen to socialise Polly! And of course blab on about how great greyhounds are ) Hannah and Polly xxx

Hi Hannah and Polly,
We are collecting in Teesside Pets at Home in July, Whitby in August and we're having another stall at the Stockton show at the end of August. Sarah (twiggyandsarah) organises us so drop her a pm if she doesn't see this message.

And of course blab on about how great greyhounds are ) Hannah and Polly xxx Hi Hannah! It was lovely to meet you and pretty Polly today. She did look rather keen on the liver cake - I bet the whole bag has gone by now! It would be absolutely fantastic if you are able to help us out at future events. We're a bit thin on the ground up here in the North East so are always glad of extra hands and paws on deck! My own lurcher isn't crowd friendly so can't come on fundraisers with me, and people do love to meet a hound. I think you came along after our volunteer Vanessa had left with her greyhound - another lovely black girly, also called Polly! Those of us in this area do a couple of collections a year in Durham city, quite a few in the Teesside area, and one or two in North Yorkshire. We always post them here on the forum and also on our Facebook page. Keep an eye out for any new, and I'll send you a message when we get closer to the ones we already have booked to see if you'd like to come along. If you fancy volunteering for something you're never obliged to do a full day if you can't - just whatever you can fit in. If you enjoy talking about how great greyhounds are you have definitely found the right place with Greyhound Gap - a whole bunch of greyhound and lurcher nuts lurk around here! Sarah x
